Refugees in Idaho

This night was an amazing night. Nathan, Rachael and myself were helping their grandpa out with taking some refugees to a christmas party. We didn't know what to expect, but we were determined to share the Love that we recognize God gives us all. These kids have come from far away and have lost family, either living them behind or losing them on their way to refuge in various countries, and the shelter of love because of it. They've been told they are a number, because of this they've lost brothers, sisters, moms, dads, spouses, daughters and sons. By doing so they've become a little harsh, creating barriers and walls to protect themselves from anymore pain. A lot of people don't understand their responses to the pain, sometimes its wildness, brutality, shyness or quietness; these are all tools used to push others away for the safety of their hearts. But we look at the pain and hope to minister the only healing aid, the Love of Christ, even if it means being beat or spit on. This little gift was nice to show some love and in the end I really hope that they begin to see the Love God has for them, how they are safe in His hands, that they can recognize their identity as Sons and Daughters of the Holy King, and Love that heals every heart.
